First Design Your Life paper awarded the ‘Best Paper Award’

The first published paper about the Design Your Life project was awarded with the Best Paper Award of the 10th International Conference on Design, User Experience and Usability, which took place in 2021.

The paper “Design Your Life: User-Initiated Design of Technology to Support Independent Living of Young Autistic Adults” by Waardenburg et al. describes the Design Your Life method and the first experiences with applicating this method in a first set of three design cases. The method is currently being developed further in a new set of design cases.

A graphic representation of the Design Your Life process. Six hexagons are placed in a circle, one additional hexagon is placed in the middle. The outer hexagons describe the design process: my situation, my focus, my ideas, my thing, my test and my lesson. The six hexagons in the circle are connected with arrows, emphasising the cyclic nature of the design process. The hexagon in the middle reads my ways & my world. All six outer hexagons contribute to the understanding of the ways and the world of the YAA.
